| | Visiting Artist Lecture - Deborah Mae Broad | | Description: | Visiting Artist Lecture - Deborah Mae BroadDeborah Mae Broad is a professional artist who makes a living from her wood engraving prints. She taught at Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead Minnesota until 2003 when she retired to work full-time as an artist. She received her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She maintains a studio (Prairie Press) on her farm in Hawley, Minnesota where she lives with her husband Byron, her mule Barfly, quarter horse Hog, and numerous rescued cats. Deborah Mae will be a visiting artist in the Department of Art March 14-18, 2012 and she will present an artist talk about her work on Wednesday, March 14 at 2 pm in the John A. Day Gallery in the Warren M. Lee Center for the Fine Arts. Deborah will conduct a series of workshops on wood engraving and her approach to printing color screen-printing for engraving.
