This is an 8' fiberglass El Torro hull. It has been decked over and a jib added. A substantial keel is added and she sails effortlessly on a "no wind" day - yet really booms along with some wind! Novice sailors might want to step the mast forward and practice with just the mainsail. This will transport in a pickup bed, but is a bit of a heft to get it in. Although shrouds aren't necessary I added them for the jib. Both rudder and oversize centerboard are weighted and it has never come close to capsizing. (of course I spill wind when needed). Since it seats like a sportscar, I can only take 1 kid at a time. There is plenty of room, however, for a couple youth. Rigging is easy and fast, not much futzing. As usual, it's time for another coat of paint topsides. I just brush on a coat of RustOleum now and then and could do it again. Due to the cost of the larger replacement mainsail my price is pretty firm. If cash is in front of me I might bend a little. |
