It has been a good running car and currently runs fine, but needs some work. Estimate from Bill Roberts Chevrolet in Bolivar for lower intake gasket, water pump, & coolant flush is $1028. Verbal estimate for same from R&S Auto Repair in Buffalo is $700.
There are dents on both sides from deer. Fuel gauge is inoperable, but I have pre-owned trip odometer for years with no problem. Anti-brake lock light is on.

This car is a 1970 Chevelle SS454 Clone. It has a 454 engine with a mild cam and ceramic coated headers. The motor went back together with standard main bearings and rod bearings. No boring was required. We took the engine out of a truck because it was in very like-new condition. We degreed the cam, put in true roller timing chain and gears, new lifters, new oil pump and an aluminum intake that works with the a-c brackets. It has 1966 closed chamber heads with oversized stainless steel valves. New springs and retainers to match the cam profile. We changed the distributer to HEI for better performance and dependability. It has a 780 Holly carberator. It has a Turbo 350 with hardened race for second gear, a shift kit from B&M, Raysbestos clutches and a Dynamic torque converter with a 3500 stall. Some say a T350 is not as strong as a T400 but when it is done right, they will hold behind a 454. The T350 takes less horse power from the crank than the 400 does. This means a little more ponies to the tires. |
